Joseph P. Grecco, 69, of Pleasant Mount, died Monday April 24th at Geisinger CMC, Scranton. He is survived by his wife, the former Lori Svecz.
Born in Carbondale, son of the late Ralph J. and Angela Marie DeFazio Grecco, he was a member of Ascension Parish, Forest City. He was a 1972 graduate of Benjamin Franklin High School, Carbondale. Prior to his retirement, he was employed as a maintenance supervisor at Wayne Memorial Hospital, Honesdale. He had been previously employed by the former Tredegar Film Products, Carbondale. He was known as “Mr. Fix-it” to his friends; he enjoyed fixing the golf carts at Memorial Links Golf Course.
Also surviving are a son: Joseph Grecco and wife Chelsea, Waymart; two grandsons: Joseph and Noah; four sisters: Mary Hagan, Carbondale; Annette Peters and husband Don, Forest City; Kathy Matichak and husband Bill, Peckville; Angela Grecco, Claymont, DE; three brothers: Ralph Grecco and wife Pam, Newton Lake; John Grecco and wife Tracie, Carbondale; James Grecco and companion Shelley Kilmer, Clifford; and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends on Saturday April 29th from 9 to 10 am in St. Joseph’s Church, Delaware Street, Forest City, with a Mass of Christian Burial to follow at 10 am. Arrangements by the Jones & Brennan Funeral Home, 430 Main Street, Forest City.
