Joseph Eric Karosus, 53, born December 31st, was peacefully freed from his four year battle with cancer on Wednesday December 8th at Hospice of the Sacred Heart in Dunmore.
Joe was a generous, loving, kind, and devoted son, dad, and friend. He gave us all strength as he lived his life with cancer. It was always a good day for Joe; if he had a bad day, no one would ever know. He battled cancer his way.
Joe was employed by the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation, and he had his own seamless gutter business. He worked very hard in life with little time for himself. Time for Joe was fishing and hunting. Joe had a special love for his daughter Mia and his amazing wonderful friends.
The family would like to send a thank you to his PennDot family for being by his side. The family would also like to thank all of the doctors that cared for Joe. To know him was to love him.
Joe is survived by his mother, Theresa Chellino, and his father, Joseph F. Karosus; a daughter: Mia and her mother, Jennifer; a step-brother: Ivan and his mother Diane; aunts, uncles, and cousins.
The funeral will be Saturday December 11th in the Brennan & Brennan Funeral Home, Inc., 55 Lincoln Avenue, Carbondale, with a blessing service at 2 pm. Interment will be private at the convenience of the family. Friends may call Saturday, from 1 pm until service time.
