Joseph W. Roney, Sr.

Joseph W. Roney, Sr , 47, of Ararat, died Thursday  April 8th at home. His wife is the former January Price.

Born in Susquehanna, he was the son of Leora Malinski Mayo , of Lakewood and William Roney, of Preston Park, and step son of Edward Mayo, of Lakewood.  He was a graduate of Hancock High School, and attended the East Ararat Methodist Church. He was employed as Assistant Caretaker at Camp Ramah in the Pocono’s, Lakewood.

Also surviving are 2 sons: Joseph W .Roney, Jr. and his companion Ashley, Thompson and Justin at home; 2 sisters: Crystal Roney, Honesdale and Eileen Roney, New Jersey; and several nieces ,nephews, aunts, and uncles.

A memorial service will be held Monday April 12th at 5:00 p.m. in the East Ararat Methodist Church.

Friends may call Monday from 3:00 pm until service time at the church.
