Judy Weckel, 70, of Carbondale, died Monday, December 7th at Geisinger CMC from COVID-19.
Born in Carbondale, daughter of the late Harold and Rita Thornton Speicher, she was a member of Saint Rose of Lima Church, Carbondale. She was a graduate of Benjamin Franklin High School, Carbondale. She was a longtime employee of the Carbondale Nursing Center. She loved her children and grandchildren, and she greatly enjoyed supporting them and attending their sporting events. Her smile was always brightest when traveling with her best friends and family, especially on her annual winter trips to Florida to spend time with her sisters.
Surviving are a daughter: Charlene Daniels and husband Thomas, Vandling; Jeffery Weckel, Carbondale; Charles Weckel and wife Kim, Troutville, VA; 6 grandchildren: Tyler, Courtney, and Corey Daniels; Justin, Kyla, and Sara Weckel; 2 sisters: Sally Kozlowski and husband Fred, Bonita Springs, FL; Kay Morrison, Carbondale; a brother: Donald Speicher and wife Jill, Shrewsbury, MA; and several nieces and nephews.
She was also preceded in death by a brother, Jerry Speicher.
The funeral will be Friday, December 11th with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 am in Saint Rose of Lima Church, Carbondale. Interment, Our Mother of Sorrows Cemetery, Finch Hill. Arrangements by the Brennan & Brennan Funeral Home, Inc., 55 Lincoln Avenue, Carbondale.
