Julianne M. “Smiley” Garman, 60, of Carbondale, passed away peacefully Monday August 9th at Aventura at Creekside, Carbondale.
Born in Honesdale, daughter of the late William and Louise Krol Roegner, she was a graduate of Honesdale High School and was a United States Marine Corps veteran. While in the Marines she was a photojournalist and traveled many parts of the world. Julie was one of a kind, known for her contagious smile and the ability to light
up the entire room. Her pride and joy in life were her children and grandchildren. During her free time she enjoyed crocheting, listening to music and anything that would make her laugh.
Surviving are two daughters: Bunny Garman and companion Joshua Olecki of Hop Bottom; Jenny Shaffer and husband Walter of Marshall, IL; a son: Barry Garman and wife Annette of Hixson, TN; eight grandchildren; two brothers: Thomas Roegner of Prompton; William Roegner, West Virginia; and several nieces and nephews.
She was also preceded in death by a brother, Michael Roegner.
Private funeral services will be held at the convenience of the family. Arrangements by the Brennan & Brennan Funeral Home, Inc., 55 Lincoln Avenue, Carbondale.
