Lorraine Lewis, 81, of Carbondale, died Monday, September 9th at the Regional Hospital of Scranton. She was the widow of Robert G. Lewis, Sr., who died June 1st; the couple was married for 62 years.
Born March 17, 1943 in Carbondale, daughter of the late Harley and Evelyn Rabinsky Misner, she was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Carbondale. She was a graduate of the Benjamin Franklin High School, Carbondale, Class of 1961. Lorraine was dedicated to her family and was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, and aunt. She shared a special bond with her sisters and her nieces and nephews, who called her Aunt Rainie.
Surviving are her three children: Robert Lewis, Jr. and wife Patricia (Scarpino); Jennifer Lewis; Harley Lewis, all of Carbondale; a grandson: Robert Lewis and wife Kristy, Chapel Hill, NC; four great granddaughters: Charlotte, Abigail, Savannah, and Madison Lewis; three sisters: Linda Galko; Patricia Calabro and husband Chip, all of Carbondale; and Cynthia Stephens, North Carolina; several nieces and nephews; and special neighbors: Mary Ann and Joanne Shaw.
She was also preceded in death by two sisters: LaVonne Misner and Nancy Becker; and five brothers-in-law: Anthony Galko; Robert Becker; Robert Stephens; Edgar and William Lewis.
The funeral will be Friday, September 13th with graveside services at 11 am in Canaan Corners Cemetery, Waymart. Arrangements by the Brennan & Brennan Funeral Home, Inc., 55 Lincoln Avenue, Carbondale.
