Margaret Mary Moore McDonald, devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, of Warrenton, VA, passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 18th, 2025 at the age of 90. She was the widow of William F. McDonald, Sr., who died April 28, 2022.

Born in Carbondale, she was the 6th of 13 children of James and Mary Wengrzynek Moore, raised in the Catholic faith at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church and was a graduate of Benjamin Franklin Highschool. After marriage, she and husband Bill moved their young and growing family to Falls Church, VA where they raised 7 children and lived for 58 years. She joined the Mitre Corporation, where she worked 20 years. She made friends everywhere, and loved family gatherings and parties.

Margaret is survived by 6 children: Mark McDonald (Peggy), Tom McDonald (Stacy), Bill McDonald, Jr. (Kathy), Jeanne McDonald, Michael McDonald (Teresa), and Tim McDonald (Charlene); five sisters, Elizabeth Loughney, Barbara Price, Patricia Resine (John), Ann Ryan and Terry Talarico (Tony); 12 grandchildren; and 14 great grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her husband, William F. McDonald; daughter, Patricia Bankus & her husband, Kent; grandson, Marshall McDonald; great grandson, Killian Dyer; four sisters: Monnie and Alice Moore; Jean Smith; Cathy Penska; and three brothers: Joseph, Francis, and James Moore.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday May 16th at 10 am in Saint Rose of Lima Church, Carbondale, to be celebrated by her nephew, Rev. James Price, CP.  Interment will follow at Our Mother of Sorrows Cemetery, Finch Hill.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to The American Heart Association or charity of your choice.
