Marie J. Roberts

Marie J. Roberts, 81, of Carbondale, died Monday June 12th  at the Carbondale Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
Born in Narrowsburg, N.Y., she was the daughter of the late Jessie and Ethel Mae Roberts. She was a graduate of Narrowsburg High School and was a member of the Catholic faith. Prior to her retirement, she was a housekeeper.
Marie had vast collections of frogs, and was always the life of the party and enjoyed a beer. She cherished her grand dog, Tango.
The family would like to thank the staff of the Carbondale Nursing Home, Dr. Matt Haley and his staff, and Compassionate Care Hospice for the outstanding care given to Marie during her illness.
Surviving are a daughter, Bernice Roberts and companion, James Miller, Simpson; a son, Randy Roberts, Carbondale; three brothers, Donald Roberts, New York; Richard Roberts, South Carolina; and Chester Roberts, New York; several grandchildren including her favorite, Felicia Lee and husband, David Lee; and her great-granddaughter, Adaline; and several nieces and nephews.
She was also preceded in death by two sons, Larry and Jeff Roberts; and a sister, Bernice Roberts.
A blessing service will be held Thursday  June 15th at 6:30 p.m. in the Brennan and Brennan Funeral Home Inc., 55 Lincoln Ave., Carbondale. Interment will be held at the convenience of the family in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Honesdale.
