Marlene M. Swingle, 66, of Carbondale, died Saturday January 18th at the Regional Hospital of Scranton after a battle with cancer.
Born in Bristol, daughter of Clara Montone, Carbondale, and the late Vincent Dellia, she was a graduate of Carbondale Area High School, Class of 1976. She was a member of the Berean Baptist Church, Carbondale. She was a caregiver all of her life before retiring; after retirement, she was employed at Turkey Hill Minit Market, Carbondale. Marlene was a member of the American Legion Post 221 Auxiliary, Carbondale.
The family would like to thank the staff at Hematology and Oncology of NEPA, Dunmore, and the staff at the Regional Hospital of Scranton for their compassionate care.
Also surviving are her partner of 32 years, Ronald Barber, Jr.; a daughter: Robyn Morris and husband Trevor; four grandchildren: Mason and Jayce Griffin; Aubri and Everli Morris; two sisters: twin Darlene Poklemba and Christine Dellia; two brothers: Dale Thomas and wife Charlotte and Bill Dellia and wife Sandy; and several nieces and nephews.
She was also preceded in death by four brothers: Infant Scott; Vincent, Michael, and Dominick Dellia; and a nephew: Justin Poklemba.
The funeral will be Friday January 24th with services at 4:30 pm by Pastor Deborah Loessy in the Brennan & Brennan Funeral Home, Inc., 55 Lincoln Avenue, Carbondale. Friends may call Friday from 2 to 5 pm.
