Martin Fay Obituary

Martin Fay, 70, of Scranton, died Saturday September 28th at the Forest City Nursing Center.

Born in Carbondale, son of the late Walter and Phyllis Howe Fay, he was a member of Our Lady of the Rosary Parish, Carbondale.  He was a graduate of St. Rose High School, Carbondale, and received his Associates Degree from Lackawanna Jr. College.  Prior to his retirement, he was employed as a production manager for AZEK Company, Scranton.  Marty was known and respected for his hard work; he approached everything with integrity.  In his free time, he found joy in the simple moments, like spending time with family.  He was an avid chess player and would love to boast whenever he would win a game against his son Paul.  He loved to make people laugh.  He touched the lives of many and will always be remembered for his kindness, compassion, and gentle spirit.  Marty may have left this world, but his love and legacy will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew him.

The family wishes to thank the staff at Hospice of the Sacred Heart and the Forest City Nursing Center for their compassionate care.

Surviving are his six children: Debi Fay, Carbondale; Valerie Kutch and husband Michael, Carbondale; Paul Fay and wife Melissa, Bradenton, FL; Danita Fay, Carbondale; Brianna Fay, Carbondale; and Desirae Fay, Scranton; 17 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren; a brother: Edward Fay, Colorado; two sisters: Mary Beth Pish, Olyphant; Ann Fay, Clarks Summit; his former spouse: Debbie Fay; and his companion Kate Evans, New Milford; and several nieces and nephews.

He was also preceded in death by a brother: Donnie Fay; and a grandson: Justin Ormes.

The funeral will be Saturday, October 5th with a blessing service at 11am in the Brennan & Brennan Funeral Home, Inc., 55 Lincoln Avenue, Carbondale.  Interment will follow in the Jermyn Cemetery.  Friends may call Saturday morning, from 10am until service time.
