Mary Henry Obituary

Mary Ann Henry, 78, of Forest City, died Friday April 21st shortly after being diagnosed with ovarian cancer.  She was the widow of Russell L. Henry, who died April 5, 2020.

Born in Carbondale, daughter of the late Rudolph and Julia Susco Beautz, she was a member of Ascension Parish, Forest City.  Mary Ann was a 1962 graduate of the Forest City Regional High School and a 1965 graduate of the Saint Joseph’s School of Nursing, Carbondale.  Prior to her retirement, she was employed as a Registered Nurse Assessment Coordinator (RNAC) at the Forest City Nursing & Rehabilitation Center.  

During her life, Mary Ann took great pride in maintaining the family home and in providing compassionate care to others.  She enjoyed spending time with her family and taking long leisurely rides in the country.

Surviving are a son: Dr. Christopher L. Henry and wife Karen, Durham, NC; a daughter: Dr. Julianne Matteson and husband Dr. A. Brett Matteson, Hayden Lake, Idaho; grandchildren: Luke Henry Matteson and Piper Matteson; a sister: Barbara Cawley and husband James, Bowie, MD; and several nieces and nephews.

Combined funeral services along with her husband will be held Thursday April 27th from the Jones & Brennan Funeral Home, 430 Main Street, Forest City, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 am in St. Joseph’s Church, Delaware St., Forest City.  Interment will follow in St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Forest City.  Friends may call at the funeral home from 9 to 10:30 am.
