Mary L. Yakely

Mary L. Yakely, 86, of Forest City, died Monday, December 1st at home.  She was the widow of William J. Yakely, who died in 2000.

Born in Carbondale, daughter of the late Stephen and Olga Paluch Seney, she was a member of Saint John’s Byzantine Catholic Church, Forest City.  She was a veteran of the United States Marine Corps.  Prior to retirement, she was employed as a computer operator for NEP Telephone, Forest City.  She was also the bookkeeper for the family business, Yakely TV and Radio, Forest City.

Surviving are a daughter: Christina Jenkins and husband Eric, Waymart; a son: Stephen Yakely, Archbald; two grandchildren: Liam Jenkins and Axton Yakely; and several nieces and nephews, including a special niece Mary Lynn Yakely.

She was also preceded in death by one sister: Arlene Travis.

Funeral liturgy will be held on Monday December 8th at 10 am in Saint John’s Byzantine Catholic Church, Susquehanna St., Forest City.  Interment will follow at St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Forest City.  Arrangements by the Jones & Brennan Funeral Home, 430 Main Street, Forest City.
