Michael Adam Fredmonski, 74, of Crystal Lake, died Wednesday June 26th after a lengthy illness. He is survived by his loving wife and best friend, the former Janie Piatt Salvatore.
Born in Scranton, son of the late Adam and Margaret Kolmansberger Fredmonski, he was a member of Saint Rose of Lima Church, Carbondale. He was a graduate of Riverside High School, and attended Keystone Junior College before graduating from Temple University with his degree in psychology. Prior to his retirement, he was employed for 35 years at the Pennsylvania Department of Public Welfare, retiring as a Caseworker Supervisor. Michael enjoyed being in the outdoors, whether it be golfing, fishing, or picking mushrooms. He was a member of the AARP Golf League at Pine Hills Country Club and Summit Hills Golf Course, where he was league champion two years in a row. During league play, he recorded a hole-in-one on the 13th hole at Summit Hills. He was an avid sports fan, cheering for the Dallas Cowboys and Penn State; and he enjoyed a good craft beer. He was a gentle and kind man who adored his family and was the epitome of class.

Also surviving are two children: Stephen and Larissa Fredmonski, Delray Beach, FL; two step-children: Paul Salvatore and wife, Jennifer, Crystal Lake; Christine Richards, Throop; four siblings: James Fredmonski and wife Ginny, Moosic; George Fredmonski and wife Jo Ann, Duryea; Mary Ann Ceccarelli, Jupiter, FL; A.J. Fredmonski and wife Joanne, Simpsonville, SC; three grandchildren: Paul Salvatore, III; and Gavin and Mackenzie Richards; a brother-in-law: Billy Piatt and wife Michele, Crystal Lake; and several nieces and nephews.
He was also preceded in death by a sister: Vanessa Fredmonski.
The funeral will be Monday, July 1st, from the Brennan & Brennan Funeral Home, Inc., 55 Lincoln Avenue, Carbondale, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 am in Our Lady of the Rosary Parish at Saint Rose of Lima Church, Carbondale. Interment, Our Mother of Sorrows Cemetery, Finch Hill. Friends may call Sunday at the funeral home, from 4 to 7 pm.
