Obituary

Michael P. Kane, 75, of Forest City, died peacefully at home on Saturday July 8th.

Born in Washington, DC, he was the son of the late Donald and Mary Zelonis Kane, he was a member of Ascension Parish, Forest City.  He was a graduate of Forest City Regional High School, Class of 1966.  He was a US Army veteran.  Prior to retirement, he was employed as a Psychiatric Aide at the Clarks Summit State Hospital.  Earlier, he had been employed by the Gentex Corp., Simpson.  Mike was a nice guy who enjoyed gardening, flowers, and nature.  He was an avid coin collector, and will be missed by all his friends and family.

Surviving are a son: Michael J. Kane and wife Maria, Scranton; two grandchildren: Larissa and Christopher Kane; three sisters: Patricia Mikolon and husband Emil; Marylou Karwowski; Kandy Davis; a sister-in-law: Eve Kubus; and several nieces and nephews.

He was also preceded in death by his life partner, Lottie “Lucy” Pepson; his son: Christopher Kane; three brothers: Donald, Charles, and Joe Kane; and his nephew: T.J. Davis.

Graveside services will be held Friday July 14th at 1:30 pm in Saint Agnes Cemetery, Forest City.  Arrangements by the Jones & Brennan Funeral Home, 430 Main Street, Forest City.
