Michael J. Paluch, Jr., 87, of Forest City, died Friday November 15th at the Forest City Nursing Center.  He was preceded in death by his wife, the former Jean R. Lavin, who died February 12, 2007.

Born in Pleasant Mount, son of the late Michael and Helen Seney Paluch, he was a graduate of Preston High School.  He attended Ascension Parish, Forest City.  Mike was a US Navy Veteran and a Veteran of the Pennsylvania National Guard, 109th Infantry Division.  Prior to his retirement, he had been employed as a production worker at General Dynamics, Eynon.  He had previously been employed at Grummond Olson, Mayfield and at SJ Bailey and Sons, Carbondale.  Mike was a talented woodworker who enjoyed hunting in his younger years.  He had a fondness for antique John Deere tractors and for his family farm in Pleasant Mount.

Surviving are a brother: Thomas Paluch, Florida; and several nieces and nephews.

He was also preceded in death by two brothers: Francis and Joseph Paluch; and a sister: Beverly Harvatine.

Graveside services will be held Saturday November 30th at Noon in Saint Agnes Cemetery, Forest City.  Arrangements by the Jones & Brennan Funeral Home, 430 Main St., Forest City.
