Nancy K. Free, 62, of Carbondale, died Wednesday July 13th at the Hospice of the Sacred Heart, Dunmore.
Born in Jersey City, NJ, she was the daughter of the late William and Margaret Coleman Free. Nancy was a member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, Carbondale, and a graduate of Carbondale Area High School. She was currently employed at Gentex Corporation, Simpson and previously as manager of Burger King in Carbondale and Eynon. She was a great freelance photographer, having spent time at Merli-Sarnoski Park photographing the American Bald Eagle. Nancy was well known for her photos on WNEP Channel 16 Photo Link Library. She considered herself the unofficial photographer of Carbondale, and she enjoyed managing several facebook pages.
Surviving are four sisters: Jeannine Houser and husband Thomas, Jermyn; Margaret Wallace and husband John, Carbondale; Gert Moorhead and husband Ed, Carbondale; Ann Free, Carbondale; one brother: James Free and wife Chris, Endicott, NY; one sister-in-law Stephaine Free, Port Jefferson, NY; several aunts, an uncle, and several nieces, nephews, and grand nieces and grand nephews.
She was also preceded in death by a brother Gene Free.
The funeral will be Saturday July 16th with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m in Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, 15 Fallbrook St., Carbondale. Interment, Our Mother of Sorrows Cemetery, Finch Hill. Friends may call Saturday at the church from 9:00 am until mass time. Arrangements by the Brennan and Brennan Funeral Home, Inc., 55 Lincoln Ave, Carbondale.
