Neil F. Geletka, 64, of Carbondale, died Saturday July 1st at home. He is survived by his wife, the former Laurie Reynolds.
Born in Euclid, OH, son of the late George and Helen McGuire Geletka, he was a graduate of the University of Scranton, where he received his Masters Degree. He was a proud United States Navy Veteran, having retired after 27 years of service as a Corpsman, retiring at the rank of Master Chief. He was a member of the VFW Post 4712, Simpson, and the American Legion Post 610, Mayfield. He was an avid golfer and a die-hard Cleveland Browns Fan. He enjoyed visiting America’s National Parks along with his wife. Prior to retirement, he was employed by the Pennsylvania Office of Vocational Rehabilitation, Wilkes-Barre.
Also surviving are his children: Nikkole Wright, Decatur, IN; Holly Lemaster and husband Eric, Decatur, IN; Dana Geletka and fiancé John Green, Fort Wayne, IN; Mary Geletka and partner Carter Powers, Phoenix, AZ; Neil Geletka, Jr., Carbondale; a brother: George Geletka and wife Sue, The Villages, FL; two sisters: Marian Geletka, Perrysville, OH; Rita Geletka, Winston-Salem, NC; three grandchildren: Storm Wright, New Haven, IN; Layne and Brinley Lemaster, both of Decatur, IN; and several nieces and nephews
He was also preceded in death by a sister: Irene Mack; and a brother: Michael Patrick Geletka.
The funeral will be Saturday July 8th in the Brennan & Brennan Funeral Home, Inc., 55 Lincoln Avenue, Carbondale with services and military honors at 1 pm. Friends may call Saturday, from 11 am until service time.
