Patrick Francis Battle

Patrick Francis Battle, 71, of Jermyn, died Monday February 21st at the Regional Hospital of Scranton.  He is survived by his wife, the former Mary Louise Fox.

Born in Wyoming, son of the late Thomas Joseph and Doris Grace Nicholson Battle, he was a graduate of Benjamin Franklin High School, Carbondale.  He attended St. Rose of Lima Church, Carbondale.  Prior to retirement, he was employed at Gentex Optics, Simpson for 45 years.  He was a former member of the Artisan Fire Company, Jermyn.  Patrick loved to spend time outdoors, and he greatly enjoyed fishing.  

Also surviving are two daughters: Charlene Kilhullen and husband Josh, Carbondale; Amanda Battle, Jermyn; four grandchildren: Joshua, Mollie, Oliver, and Brooke Kilhullen; a brother: Thomas Battle, Delaware; a sister: Joanne Nelson, Carbondale; and several nieces and nephews.

He was also preceded in death by two sisters: Mary and Grace.

As per his request, private funeral services were held.  Arrangements by the Brennan & Brennan Funeral Home, Inc., 55 Lincoln Avenue, Carbondale.
