Paul Bock, 90, of Ararat Twp., died Wednesday February 12 at Aventura at Creekside, Carbondale. He was preceded in death by his wife, the former Dolores Scuba, who died December 18, 2004.
Born in Mount Pleasant Twp., son of the late John S. And Helen Hutnyan Bock, he was a member and President of SS Peter and Paul Russian Orthodox Church, Uniondale. A graduate of Pleasant Mount High School, he was a veteran of the United States Air Force, having served during the Korean War. He was a member of Costello Monahan Brown American Legion Post #964, Pleasant Mount. Paul worked on the family farm, and he was a self employed handyman. He enjoyed ice fishing and trout fishing, and he took great pride in maintaining his yard.
Surviving are a sister: Nadine Lambert, Sparta, NJ; and several nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews, including his great nephew and caregiver Matthew Saam.
He was also preceded in death by two brothers: Joseph and John “Jack” Bock; four sisters: Helen Bock; Tatiana Rozdilsky; Elizabeth Demianovich; and Mary Sandfort.
The funeral will be Monday February 17th with Funeral Liturgy at 1 pm in SS Peter and Paul Russian Orthodox Church, 2105 Belmont Turnpike, Union Dale. Interment will follow in Pleasant View Cemetery, Pleasant Mount. Friends may call Sunday from 4 to 6 pm at the Jones & Brennan Funeral Home, 430 Main Street, Forest City and on Monday afternoon at the church from 12 noon until Liturgy time.
