Paul Matoushek Obituary

Paul F. Matoushek, 94, of Vestal, NY and formerly of Skaneateles, NY, died Thursday, February 26th at UHS Wilson Medical Center, Johnson City, NY.  He was preceded in death by his wife, Helen Bendyk Matoushek, who died May 2, 2019.

Born in Forest City, son of the late George J. and Mary Grablutz Matoushek, he was a member of SS Peter and Paul Russian Orthodox Church, Union Dale.  He was a graduate of Forest City High School.   Paul was a veteran of the United States Air Force, having served during the Korean War.  Prior to retirement, he was employed as a Stationary and Maintenance Engineer for BASF Corporation, Rensselaer, NY.

Surviving are three daughters: Paulette Furnia and husband Robert, Chagrin Falls, OH; Ann Meek and husband Charles, Phoenix, MD; Maria Sykora and companion Roger Forbes, Gilbert, AZ; four granddaughters; two grandsons; one great grandson; three great granddaughters and several nieces and nephews.

He was also preceded in death by a brother: Albert Matoushek; and a sister: Norma Urda.

The funeral will be Thursday March 5th with Funeral Liturgy at 11 am in SS Peter and Paul Russian Orthodox Church, 2105 Belmont Turnpike, Union Dale.  Interment will follow in SS Peter and Paul Cemetery, Union Dale.  Friends may call at the church, from 10 to 11 am.  Arrangements by the Jones & Brennan Funeral Home, 430 Main St. Forest City.
