Pauline Shager, 86, of Union Dale, died Sunday November 16th at home following an illness. She was the widow of John E. “Jack” Shager, who died August 17, 2006.
Born in Carbondale, daughter of the late Michael and Christine Figel Natishak, she was a member of St. John Byzantine Catholic Church in Forest City. She was a graduate of Fell Township High School. Prior to her retirement, was employed as a seamstress at the former Pan-Gee Dress Factory, Vandling. She was a member of the International Ladies Garment Workers’ Union. Pauline enjoyed baking, crocheting and sewing, and her flowers. She was well known for always dropping off baked goodies to her friends and family.
Surviving are a son: John Shager and wife Sandra, Forest City; three grandchildren: Melissa Hart and husband John, Eric Shager and wife Ebony, Casey Shager; six great-grandchildren: Austin Casper, Branson Casper, Olivia Ennes and husband Matthew, Brianna Shager, Titan Shager, Summer Shager; and numerous nieces and nephews, great nieces, great nephews, and cousins.
She was also preceded in death by a son: Edward Shager; a daughter: Christine Shager; a granddaughter: Zelda Shager; three brothers: Michael, Joseph, and Donald Natishak; and two sisters: Joan Heller and Romayne Romyn.
A Celebration of Life will be held in her honor at a future date. Arrangements by the Jones & Brennan Funeral Home, 430 Main Street, Forest City.
