Penelope A. Surdoval, 68, of Scranton died Sunday October 10th at Allied Services Hospice, Scranton.
Born in Carbondale, she was the daughter of the late William and Gladys Penny Surdoval. She attended Saint Rose of Lima Church, Carbondale. She was a graduate of Kellam High School, Virginia Beach, VA and Old Dominion University, Norfolk, VA. Prior to her illness she was an administrator at Race-West Company, Clarks Summit.
Penny loved her daughter more than life itself and was with her until the moment she passed away. She valued kindness and had an infectious joy that could be felt as soon as you spoke to her. She loved her parents and was always proud of her father, a Navy veteran. Now, she is learning all of the secrets of the universe and caring for all of the kitties in Heaven.
Surviving are a daughter: Gladys DeSavino and husband Mario, Blakely; and several beloved cousins.
The funeral will be Thursday October 14th with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 am in Saint Rose of Lima Church, 6 North Church St., Carbondale. Interment, Jermyn Cemetery. Arrangements by the Brennan and Brennan Funeral Home, Inc., 55 Lincoln Ave., Carbondale.
