Peter Hruby, 86, of Forest City died Sunday October 24th at the Regional Hospital of Scranton.  His wife, the former Ruth Wedeman, died on March 23rd.

Born in Pleasant Mount, son of the late Peter and Mary Labick Hruby, he was a member of the former Union Dale Presbyterian Church.  He was a graduate of Pleasant Mount High School.  Prior to retirement, he was employed by Hendrick Manufacturing, Carbondale, and later by the Panorama Golf Course, Forest City.  Peter enjoyed sports and auto racing; he greatly enjoyed going to local dirt track races on Friday nights.

Surviving are a grandson: Joshua Scott Aldrich and wife Stephanie, Pittston; a brother: Michael Hruby, West End, NC; and several nieces and nephews.

He was also preceded in death by a son: Scott Aldrich; a daughter: Cheryl Ward; four brothers: Metro, Samuel, Stephen, and George; and four sisters: Eva Stinson, Mary Gamble, Antoinette Schaefer, and Lovey Klym

Private funeral services will be held with interment in Union Dale Cemetery.  Arrangements by the Jones & Brennan Funeral Home, 430 Main Street, Forest City.
