Philip Egnatovich Obituary

Philip N. Egnatovich, 84, of Richmondale, died Friday October 11th at the Geisinger Medical Center, Danville. His wife is the former Carmella "Millie" Russo; the couple were married in 1965.


Born in Richmondale, son of the late Paul "Chubbie" and Helen Supko Egnatovich, he was a 1958 graduate of Fell Township High School.  He was a member of Saint John's Byzantine Catholic Church, Forest City.  Philip was a United States Air Force veteran, receiving the Air Man's Medal for Heroism while serving in Léopoldville Congo in Africa.  He was a founding organizer of the Richmondale Hunting Club, and served as its first President for over 35 years. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, and he liked finding good photos to put in the newspapers for the club. He was also a member of the Browndale Sportsmen's Club and the Tri County Sportsmen's Association.  Prior to his retirement he was employed by Farview State Hospital, Waymart for 30 years as a P.S.A. Supervisor.


In addition to his wife, also surviving are several nieces and nephews.


He was also preceded in death by a sister Monica Gursky.


The funeral will be Wednesday, October 16th from the Jones and Brennan Funeral Home, 430 Main Street, Forest City, with Funeral Liturgy at 10 am in Saint John’s Byzantine Catholic Church. Interment will follow in Saint John's Cemetery, Richmondale.  Friends may call Tuesday 3 to 6 pm at the funeral home; Parastas services will be at 3 p.m.
