On June 3, 2026 our most wonderful Aunt Phyllis Flynn, 86, of Forest City, passed away peacefully at the Forest City Nursing Center. She enjoyed her time and the friendships she made over the last few years at William Penn Apartments.
Born in the Bronx, New York, daughter of the late George & Irene Grandcovsky Flynn, the Flynn family moved to Forest City where Phyllis found employment and worked for many years at the Pangee Factory, and later in life, at the Forest City Personal Care Home, where she enjoyed doing activities with the residents. A graduate of Forest City High School, she was a member of Ascension Parish, Forest City, and a member of the International Ladies Garment Workers’ Union.
Aunt Phyllis was one of a kind… She was always there for us, generous to her family and friends, and always willing to help someone in need. Even towards the end, she just wanted to make people laugh in her own special way. She loved Bailey, her dog and best friend, who passed away in 2025.
Phyllis liked to be on the move and would take drives to Dickson City to hit the stores and restaurants with family and friends over the years; it would always end up with a lot of laughs and more Pepsi and Nutter Butter’s than was needed.
Our family would like to thank Dr. David Tomazic and the staff at Forest City Nursing Center along with Hospice of the Sacred Heart for their wonderful care.
Surviving are her loving Nieces and Nephews: Irene (Vincent) DeAngelo; Robert Pearsall (Werner); James Pearsall; Joann (Michael) Matarese; Darlene (Jeffrey) Fehr; Richard (Patricia) Pearsall; Edward (Brenda) Pearsall; Melissa (James) Burke; Laurie (Kevin) Brislin; along with great nieces and great nephews; and friends: Susan Kubus, Alfred Sullivan, and Carol Gallitz.
She was preceded in death by her sister: Jean Pearsall; three brothers: John, Robert and Richard Miller; and a nephew: John Pearsall.
The funeral will be Sunday, July 12th with a blessing service at 3:30 pm in the Jones & Brennan Funeral Home, 430 Main Street, Forest City. Private interment, Saint Agnes Cemetery, Forest City. Friends may call on Sunday from 1 to 4 pm.
