Raymond Anderson Obituary

Raymond Rudolf “Rudi” Anderson, 66, of Carbondale, went to be with our Lord peacefully surrounded by his family on Tuesday July 26th, at Geisinger CMC Scranton.  Rudi is survived by his loving wife of 40 years, Sandra Anderson.

Rudi was born in Susquehanna and raised in Forest Lake; he was the son of the late Lawrence and Helen Wood. He graduated from Montrose High School and SUNY Binghamton. Rudi was a member of Our Father’s House in Scranton.  He ministered alongside his wife Sandra and in life to many. He served in the United States Army in Germany where he worked on building the Pershing Missile. He retired from the U.S. Department of Defense, Tobyhanna Army Depot in June after 17 years.  He was an electronic technician doing crypto.  He spent many years serving our Nation deployed for 7-1/2 years in Iraq, Bagram Air Force Base and Kandahar in Afghanistan, Washington D.C., and Kuwait.  

Also surviving are his children: Andrea Hendry, husband Frank Blum and their children Permera and Raji; Susan Warner, husband Bill, and their children Kenzie and Silas; Lucas Anderson and wife Jess and their children Sophia, Harper, and Scarlett; and Ian Anderson; sisters: Audrey and Sally: brothers: Floyd and David; and many nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends at Our Father’s House, 1820 Church Ave., Scranton on Wednesday, August 10th from 9:30am until his celebration of life begins at 11am celebrated by Pastor Robert Walls. A reception will immediately follow.  Our Father’s House is handicapped accessible.  Interment will be at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville at the convenience of the family.  Arrangements were made by Brennan & Brennan Funeral Home, Inc. 55 Lincoln Avenue, Carbondale.
