Richard F. Utegg, Jr., 61, of Vandling, died Sunday March 2nd at Geisinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center, Plains. He is survived by his wife, the former Ann Marie Bronchella.
Born in Honesdale, son of Richard F. and Belva Cook Utegg, Sr., Apopka, FL, he was a graduate of Western Wayne High School. He received his Associates Degree in Computer Science from Penn State Worthington Scranton. Prior to his recent retirement, he was employed as a computer programmer for UGL, Dunmore. He was a longtime member of the Waymart Volunteer Fire Company, where he held the offices of Vice President and Trustee. He was also a member of Forest City Emergency Services. He was an avid bicyclist, biking thousands of miles every year; he also enjoyed riding his motorcycle. He had an outgoing personality and was very community minded.
Also surviving are a sister: Tammy Utegg; a brother: James Utegg and wife Josie; a niece: Brianne Lint; and a nephew: Christian Lint, all of Apopka, FL.; a sister-in-law: Karen Bronchella and nephew Harley, Harrisburg; and a mother-in-law: Rita Bronchella, Forest City.
As per his request, private funeral services will be held with interment in St. Agnes Cemetery, Forest City. Arrangements by the Jones & Brennan Funeral Home, 430 Main Street, Forest City.
