Robert Britton

Robert Britton, 84, of Carbondale, passed away on Tuesday February 18th at Geisinger CMC, Scranton.  He is survived by his wife, Carolyn Campbell Britton.

Born in Carbondale, son of the late Mervington and Ethel Clemens Britton, he was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Carbondale.  He was a graduate of Benjamin Franklin High School, Class of 1958.  Prior to retirement, he was employed as a groundskeeper at the Elk View Country Club for many years.  Bob was a long-serving member of the Andrew Mitchell Hose Company, #1, Carbondale, where he held the offices of Vice President, Trustee, Captain, and First Lieutenant. 

The family would like to thank Dr. Neal Davis, the staff at DaVita Dialysis, and the staff at GCMC for their compassionate care of Bob.

Also surviving are three children: David, Kimberly, and Steven, all of Carbondale; three grandchildren: Sean Kopa, Cameron Britton, and Tanner Britton; two great grandchildren: Rowan Britton and Ellianna Britton; a sister: Dorothy Smith, California, and several nieces and nephews.

 He was also preceded in death by a brother, David Britton.

Private funeral services will be held in the spring with interment in Union Dale Cemetery.  Arrangements by the Brennan & Brennan Funeral Home, Inc., 55 Lincoln Avenue, Carbondale.
