Robert James Matoushek, 87, of Honesdale, passed away peacefully on Friday June 19, 2026. He is survived by his loving partner: Mary Gustin; brother: Ronald (Connie) Matoushek; daughter: Diane Kearns-Puckhaber (Gary); son: Mark Matoushek (Renee); Grandchildren: Dezerae (Anthony), Cameron (Kaylee), Charlene (Andrea), Millie, Cory and Tori (Diamante); great-grandchildren: Travis, Maci, Carson, Elijah, Alanah, Noah.
Robert is preceded in death by his parents: Albert and Louise Mitterer Matoushek; loving wife: Ann Marie; brothers: Louis and James; and grandson: TJ.
Born in Creamton, he previously resided in Rochester, New York; he was a graduate of Penn State University and worked at Eastman Kodak Company, Government Systems Division. He had many inventions and patents and some of his work is displayed at the Smithsonian. He spent his free time and retirement enjoying woodworking.
The funeral will be Saturday June 27th with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 am in St. James Church, Pleasant Mount. Interment will follow at St. James Cemetery, Pleasant Mount. Arrangements by the Jones & Brennan Funeral Home, 430 Main Street, Forest City.
