Ronald S. Bebla Sr., 77, of Carbondale, passed into eternal life on Sunday, January 26th, after a brief illness. He is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Judy Gillott Bebla.
Born in Carbondale, son of the late Stephen and Irene Sladicka Bebla, he was a lifelong resident of Carbondale. Ronald was a devoted member of Our Lady of the Rosary Parish, where he worshipped at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, Carbondale. He was a graduate of St. Rose High School, Carbondale, and a veteran of the United States Air Force. Prior to retirement, Ronald was a dedicated employee of the Pennsylvania Department of State, where he worked for many years, earning the respect and admiration of his colleagues.
Ronald was a cherished husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend. His family was the center of his world, and he spent his life creating loving memories with them. He was a passionate fan of the New York Yankees, New York Giants, and New York Knicks, a passion that he shared with his son and brothers. In addition to his love for sports, Ronald enjoyed fishing and found great joy in spending time with his loved ones, always putting family first. Ronald will be deeply missed by all who knew him. His memory will live on in the hearts of his family and friends, who will forever remember his kindness, generosity, and unwavering love.
The Bebla family extends their heartfelt thanks to the staff of Hospice of the Sacred Heart in Dunmore and to Father Joseph Mosley, Our Lady of the Rosary Parish for their compassionate care during Ronald’s final days.
Also surviving are his daughter: Jennifer Bebla Brier, and her husband Jerry, along with their son, Damien Phillips; his son: Ronald Bebla, Jr.; his brothers: Steve Bebla and Jim Bebla and his wife, Renee; and his nephews, Keith and Jeff Pascoe and his wife, Rachel. He is also survived by his sister-in-law: Angel Gillott Masco and her husband, Joe; his niece: Dr. Samantha Masco; and his nephew and godson: Nathan Masco.
The funeral will be Thursday January 30th from the Brennan & Brennan Funeral Home, Inc., 55 Lincoln Avenue, Carbondale, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:30 am in Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, Fallbrook St., Carbondale, to be celebrated by his cousin, Father Phillip Sladicka. Interment will follow at Our Mother of Sorrows Cemetery, Finch Hill. Friends may call Wednesday, from 4 to 7 pm.
