Rose A. Carite, 87, of Carbondale, died Friday June 4th at Geisinger CMC, Scranton. She was the widow of Edward Carite, of Carbondale, who died in 2008.
Born and raised in Carbondale, she was the daughter of the late Philip and Angelina Rocco Calachino. As a young girl, she helped raise her siblings after the death of her mother. She later married and raised her children. Rose always spoke her mind which often made people laugh and made her chuckle as well. She will be greatly missed by all.
Surviving are her children: Edward Carite and wife Thresa, Plymouth; Roseann Twining and husband Roy, Lenoxville; three grandchildren: Tyler and Brianna Twining and Alexis Adams and husband Garrett; three great grandchildren: Alayna, Everleigh, and Gavin Adams; six siblings: Dominick Colachino; Philip Calachino; Mary Ambrosecchia; Joann Chumard; Carol Munley; and Anna Evans; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was also preceded in death by four brothers: Thomas, Joseph, William, and Louis Colachino.
The funeral will be Tuesday, June 8th with services at 7pm in the Brennan & Brennan Funeral Home, Inc., 55 Lincoln Avenue, Carbondale, to be celebrated by her nephew, Rev. Jack Munley. Interment will be at the convenience of the family in Saint Thomas Cemetery, Archbald. Friends may call Tuesday from 5 to 7 pm.
