Roslyn Lee Obituary

Roslyn Louise Lee, 89, formerly of Thompson, passed away peacefully at the Forest City Nursing Center on Sunday March 21st after a long battle with dementia.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph Lee, on February 3, 2004.

Born in Ararat, she was the daughter of the late William J. and Florence Avery Thorn.  She resided in Ararat until moving to Thompson, where she was a long time employee of Hobb’s Market.  She was a woman of great faith whose greatest love in life was her two grandchildren.  She enjoyed playing Bingo, painting ceramics, and trips to the wineries.  She was a member of the Ararat United Methodist Church and was also active in the Ladies Auxiliary of the Thompson Hose Company, where she was a lifetime member.

The family would like to extend their thanks to the dedicated staff of the Forest City Nursing Center for the compassionate care provided to Roslyn over the past years.

Surviving are her children: Linda Chesnick and husband Michael; Jewel Lee; Scott Lee; and Paul Lee and wife Melanie, all of Thompson.  She was blessed with two grandchildren who she loved to play ball with, play dress up with, go on picnics, or whatever else they may ask of her: Kacie Chesnick and Eric Lee.  She is also survived by a brother: Emery Thorn; a sister: Joyce Thorn; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.

She was also preceded in death by three brothers: Harry, Howard, and George Thorn; and four sisters: Dorothy and Judith Thorn; Joan Drumm; and Emily Harjers.

The family will receive friends at the Jones & Brennan Funeral Home, 430 Main Street, Forest City on Wednesday March 24th from 4 to 7 pm.  Burial will be private in the Ararat Cemetery at a later date.

Memorial donations may be made to the Thompson Hose Company, PO Box 419 Thompson, PA 18465.
