Russell Henry Obituary

Russell L. Henry, 76, of Forest City, died Sunday April 5, 2020 following a prolonged cardiovascular illness.  His wife was the former Mary Ann Beautz, who died April 21, 2023. The couple had been married 51 years prior to his death.

Born in Rochester, NY, son of the late Russell and Madeline Moran Henry, he was a member of Ascension Parish, Forest City.  He was educated in the Carbondale Schools and prior to retirement was employed at the North Eastern Pennsylvania Telephone Company as an installer/repairman.

During his life, Russell enjoyed rabbit and deer hunting, admiring and repairing classic 1950s automobiles, taking long leisurely rides in the country, and being a friendly conversationalist.

Surviving are a son: Dr. Christopher L. Henry and wife Karen, Durham, NC; a daughter: Dr. Julianne Matteson and husband Dr. A. Brett Matteson, Hayden Lake, Idaho; grandchildren: Luke Henry Matteson and Piper Matteson; a brother: Robert Henry and wife Elizabeth, Carbondale; two sisters: Romaine Stracham and husband Robert, Scott Twp.; Rhea Yankowski, Archbald; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by three brothers: Ronald, Raymond, and Roy Henry.

Combined funeral services along with his wife will be held Thursday April 27th from the Jones & Brennan Funeral Home, 430 Main Street, Forest City, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 am in St. Joseph’s Church, Delaware St., Forest City.  Interment will follow in St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Forest City.  Friends may call at the funeral home, from 9 to 10:30 am.
