Sally Ann Kozlowski Obituary

Sally Ann Speicher Kozlowski, 79, of Bonita Springs, FL and originally of Carbondale, PA passed away Wednesday, June 23, 2021.

She graduated from St. Rose High School and St. Joseph School of Nursing, both of Carbondale, before beginning her career as a registered nurse. Sally always lived her life to the fullest.

Sally was married to Fred Kozlowski for 55 years. They lived in Endwell, NY; Herndon, VA; Portsmouth, England; Eagan, MN; and for the past 19 years Bonita Springs, FL. Together they spent their life raising four kids, traveling the world, and spending time with loved ones.  Sally made friends everywhere she went and loved being around people.

She had a passion for travel; her favorite places were South Africa, England, Poland, Belgium, and Italy. She even managed her own travel agency for more than 30 years. She also enjoyed sewing, playing cards, attending her grandkid’s sporting events, and spending time with her family and friends. Sally’s favorite moments were at the beach and on Christmas Day surrounded by her entire family. In Florida, she enjoyed dinner with friends, Mah Jongg, competing in the local bocce league, and attending the Florida Gulf Coast University basketball games.

She was known by many names, Sally, Sara, Mom, Mrs. Koz, Aunt Sally, but mostly Nonnie by all of her grandchildren. She battled significant health issues the past several years but was always a fighter. She changed lives for the better and lived a beautiful life.

Sally is survived by her devoted husband, Fred Kozlowski formerly of Peckville, PA, brother Donny Speicher (Jill) of Shrewsbury MA, sister-in-law Betty Speicher of Carbondale, PA, her four children all in VA and their spouses; Laura Cassidy (Sean), Fred Kozlowski (Denise), Kevin Kozlowski (Tabatha), Marisa Phillips (John), her 13 grandchildren: Kyle, Katie, Kevin, Krisa, Christopher, Kaden, Karley, Kathryn, Gavin, Zach, Shane, Gillian, and Riley; and many nieces, nephews, and good friends.  All of which she loved and touched deeply.

She was preceded in death by her parents Rita & Harold Speicher, her brother Jerry Speicher, and sisters Kay Morrison and Judy Weckel.

Sally’s dedication to her family and friends was second to none and gave her no greater pleasure. She treasured all around her and embraced every moment with them.

The funeral will be Saturday, August 7, 2021, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 am in Saint Rose of Lima Church, 6 N. Church St., Carbondale, PA.  Entombment will follow in Our Mother of Sorrows Mausoleum, Finch Hill.  Friends may call at the church on Saturday morning, from 8:30 am until mass time.  Arrangements by the Brennan & Brennan Funeral Home, Inc., 55 Lincoln Avenue, Carbondale.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity that she dedicated her time and service to The Virginia Hospital Brigade (www.vhcmedicalbrigade.org), Pride ‘n Purpose (https://www.virginlimitededition.com/en/ulusaba/pride) where Sally and Fred took their family to volunteer in South Africa, or Hope Hospice Center in Bonita Springs (www.hopehospice.org/donate) where she peacefully spent her final days.
