Sara E. Thomas, 74, of Scranton, died Friday September 19th at Elan Skilled Nursing and Rehab Center, Scranton.

Born in Carbondale, daughter of the late Arthur and Marjorie E. Copeland Thomas, she was a member of Our Lady of the Rosary Parish, Carbondale.  She was a graduate of St. Rose High School and Lackawanna Junior College.  Prior to her retirement, she was employed as the shipping manager for Heidelberg Printing Press Company, Dover, New Hampshire.  When she returned to the area, she worked in the business office at the former Marian Community Hospital, Carbondale, and later at Our Lady of Peace Residence, Dunmore.  She was interested in photography and enjoyed riding horses while living in New Hampshire.

Surviving are four brothers: Arthur Thomas, Sacramento, CA; Jimmy Thomas and wife Linda, Hilda, SC; Danny Thomas and wife Shirley, Carbondale; Marty Thomas and wife Cyndee, Greenfield Twp.; and several nieces and nephews.

She was also preceded in death by a brother: Gerald; and a sister: Maribeth.

The funeral will be Thursday September 25th with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 am in St. Rose of Lima Church, Carbondale.  Interment will follow at Our Mother of Sorrows Cemetery, Finch Hill.  Friends may call Thursday morning at the church from 9:30 am until mass time.  Arrangements by the Brennan & Brennan Funeral Home, Inc., 55 Lincoln Avenue, Carbondale.
