Sharon Dearie, 71, of Carbondale, died Sunday June 21st at Allied Services Hospice Center, Scranton. She was the widow of John Patrick Dearie, who died 2001.
Born in Carbondale, daughter of Clara Stevens Burke, Carbondale, she was a graduate of Benjamin Franklin High School, Carbondale. She was a member of the Dickson City Assembly of God Church and the Parker Hill Church. Prior to retirement, she was employed as a home health aide. Sharon enjoyed playing bingo and fishing with her grandson Mitchell. She also loved her cat “Baby”.
The family would like to thank the staff at Allied Services Hospice for the compassionate care given to Sharon.
Also surviving are a daughter: Shannon Dearie and companion Gary Shekitka, Carbondale; a grandson: Mitchell Dearie, Carbondale; two sisters: Michele Borosky, Carbondale; Cindy Freely, Clifford Twp.; two brothers: Robert Burke and Larry Gallup, both of Carbondale; and several nieces and nephews.
She was also preceded in death by a son: John “Marvin” Dearie; and a brother: Ronald Stevens.
The funeral will be Friday June 26th with services at 1 pm in the Brennan & Brennan Funeral Home, Inc., 55 Lincoln Avenue, Carbondale. Interment, Sandy Bank Cemetery, Greenfield Twp. Friends may call Friday from 11 am until service time.
