Susan Aston Molinaro, 70, of Carbondale, died Thursday July 31st after a battle with cancer. She is survived by her husband, Michael Molinaro, Sr.
Born in Carbondale, daughter of the late David John and Ida Mae Barrows Aston, she was a graduate of Benjamin Franklin High School, Carbondale. She was a member of the Berean Baptist Church, Carbondale, and the Waymart First Baptist Church. Prior to her retirement, she was employed as a receptionist at NEP Tax and Accounting, Carbondale.
Also surviving are her children: Troy J. Smith, Carbondale; Jeannette Roundtree, Pittston; Rebecca Oakley and husband James, South Carolina; Jordan Molinaro, Scranton; Joshua Molinaro, Carbondale; several grandchildren; a great granddaughter; two sisters: Caroline Shifler and husband Glen, Greenfield Twp.; Michelle McHale, Mayfield; two brothers: Kevin Aston, Waymart; Edwin Aston, Hop Bottom; a sister-in-law: Kim Aston, Clifford Twp.; and several nieces and nephews.
She was also preceded in death by three sons: Michael Molinaro, Jr.; Joseph L. Molinaro; and John David Smith; a brother: Thomas W. Aston; and a brother-in-law: John McHale.
The funeral will be Tuesday, August 5th in the Brennan & Brennan Funeral Home, Inc., 55 Lincoln Avenue, Carbondale, with services at 10 am by Pastor Ruth Aston Hagglund. Interment, Canaan Corners Cemetery, Waymart. Friends may call Monday, from 3 to 6 pm. As per Sue’s wishes, everyone is asked to wear casual clothing.
