Tammy Carachilo Phillips Habeeb, 50, of Carbondale, passed away on Thursday, February 13th in the comfort of her own home after a hard-fought battle with cancer. Tammy was happily married to Theodore “Teddy” Habeeb; the couple celebrated their third wedding anniversary on February 11th.

Born in Carbondale daughter of Thomas Carachilo, Carbondale, and the late Helen Lloyd Carachilo, she was a member of Our Lady of the Rosary Parish, Carbondale.  She graduated from Carbondale Area High School; while there, she was Miss Chargerette and a member of Double R Twirlettes for eight years.  She was a graduate of Keystone College and Misericordia College.  Prior to her illness, she was employed by the Carbondale Area School District, where she was a dedicated teacher who brought light and love into every classroom she stepped into.  Tammy was a loving and devoted wife, a loving and caring mother devoted to her children and her father, who she loved so much.  She loved Myrtle Beach vacations and outings with her family and friends.

Tammy is also survived by her three children: a son: Shane Phillips, who is a medic in the US Army, and his fiancé Mckinley Borders; two daughters: Alena Phillips, a sophomore at Keystone College; and Kylah Biglin, who is an eight-grade student at Carbondale Area; and several aunts, uncles, and cousins who she adored.  She is also survived by her former husband: Wayne Phillips and wife Lucikay; as well as her mother-in-law: Anne Drugatz, who was always there for her during her illness.

The funeral will be Monday, February 17th in the Brennan & Brennan Funeral Home, Inc., 55 Lincoln Avenue, Carbondale, with services at 7 pm.  Friends may call Monday from 4 pm until service time.
