Thelma M. Valinski, 90, of Carbondale, died Tuesday, February 23rd at Moses Taylor Hospital, Scranton. She was the widow of Francis John Valinski, who died March 25, 1994.
Born in Rochester, NY, daughter of the late George Arthur and ALice Catherine Curtin Bock, she was a member of the Faith Baptist Church of Peckville. She attended the German Lutheran School in Wyandotte, Michigan. Prior to her retirement, she was employed in the Cutting Room at the Gentex Corporation, Simpson.
Surviving are a daughter: Victoria Woody and husband James, Carbondale; two sons: Kenneth and Dale Hickenbottom, both of Greensburg; a step son: Gary Valinski and wife Nanette, Sarasota, FL; a step daughter: Judy Tyno and husband John, Enigma, GA; a brother: Conrad Bock, Warren, Michigan; a sister: Laura Applegate, Peru, Indiana; 8 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She was also preceded in death by a granddaughter: Robin Valinski; a brother: Raymond Bock; and a sister: Jessie Woodward.
The funeral will be Saturday, February 27th with services at 11 am in the Faith Baptist Church of Peckville, 545 Keystone Ave. Peckville. Spring interment, Holy Trinity Cemetery, Simpson. Arrangements by the Brennan & Brennan Funeral Home, Inc., 55 Lincoln Avenue, Carbondale.
