Theodore M. Schiffer

Theodore M. Schiffer, 88, of Forest City, died Wednesday August 12th at Wayne Woodlands Manor.

Born in New Jersey, son of the late Frederick and Elizabeth Martinko Schiffer, he was a graduate of Saint Rose High School, Carbondale.  Prior to his retirement, he worked for Hornbeck Chevrolet, Forest City.  Earlier in his career, he was employed as a carpet installer.  He was a skilled mechanic who loved cars and would often be found fixing them or cleaning them up.  He loved animals, especially dogs.

Surviving are a daughter:  Suzanne Brewster, Florida; two granddaughters: Kira Brewster, Florida, Breona VanDyke, Forest City; and five great grandchildren: Kyle Bean; Chanler and Charlotte Walker; Sawyer and Salem Ruckreigle.

He was also preceded in death by two brothers: John Robert Schiffer, Sr. and Fred Schiffer, Jr.; a sister: Peggy Schiffer; and his former wife: Carol Ann Schiffer Rebernik.

As per his request, cremation was held.  Arrangements by the Jones & Brennan Funeral Home, 430 Main Street, Forest City.
