Thomas W. Morris, 87, of Waymart, died Saturday March 1st. He is survived by his wife, the former Ann Mikulak.
Born in Carbondale, son of the late William F. and Veronica Fetcho Morris, he was a member of Saint Mary’s Church, Waymart. He was a graduate of Benjamin Franklin High School, Class of 1955 and Rutgers University. He was a veteran of the United States Navy and a member of American Legion Post 221, Carbondale. Prior to retirement, he was employed for 35 years as a lamp engineer for North American Philips Lighting Corp, Hightstown, NJ, where he developed several patents. Tom was an avid golfer at Panorama Golf Course and a lifelong Philadelphia Phillies fan.
Also surviving are a daughter: Kimberly Tomaine, Carbondale; a son: Keith Esbensen and wife Sandra, Carbondale; three grandchildren: Kris and Adam Tomaine; Jess Esbensen; a great granddaughter: Catalina Tomaine; three brothers: Donald Morris, Arlington, VA; John Morris, Simpson; Dennis Morris and wife Marian, Waymart; and several nieces and nephews.
He was also preceded in death by a grandson: Jeremey Tomaine; and a brother: William Morris.
The funeral will be Friday, March 7th with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 am in St. Mary’s Church, Carbondale Road, Waymart. Interment, Our Mother of Sorrows Cemetery, Finch Hill. Friends may call Friday, from 10 am until mass time. Arrangements by the Brennan & Brennan Funeral Home, Inc., 55 Lincoln Avenue, Carbondale.
