Thomas J. "Oats" Risboskin, 73, of Vandling, died Thursday March 5th at Geisinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center. He is survived by his wife, Mary Ann Zvolensky Risboskin; the couple had been married for 51 years.
Born in Carbondale, son of the late Thomas and Mary Aubel Risboskin, he was a member of Ascension Parish, Forest City. He was a graduate of Forest City Regional High School, Class of 1971, and he obtained his Associate’s Degree in HVAC from Luzerne County Community College. Prior to his retirement, he was employed as a HVAC engineer for Cushman and Wakefield Real Estate, Clarks Summit. He was previously employed at Tredegar Products, Carbondale. He was an avid golfer and member of Wivey's Golf League, Forest City. He enjoyed going to the gym at Mayfield Fitness. He also enjoyed drag racing, traveling, and building, fixing and tinkering with anything that could be fixed or improved.
Also surviving are a son: Brad Risboskin and wife Erica, Easton; a daughter: Brenda Risboskin and fiancé Rich Robinson, Old Forge; his six siblings: Joan Skarbez and husband Thom, Massachusetts; Lynn Singer, Colorado; Lori Dagen and husband Larry, Alaska; Robert Risboskin, North Carolina; John Risboskin and wife Marie, Clifford Twp.; and James Risboskin and wife Lisa, Tennessee; numerous nieces and nephews and cousins, including close friend & cousin Richy “Groner” Wilchock and wife Janet; two aunts: Margaret “Dolly” Aubel, Kingsley; Mary Aubel, Vero Beach, Florida; and all his golf and gym buddies especially close friend Tom Thiede for all the support.
The funeral will be Thursday March 12th with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 am in Saint Joseph's Church, Delaware Street, Forest City. Friends may call Wednesday from 3 to 6 pm at the Jones & Brennan Funeral Home, 430 Main Street, Forest City, and on Thursday morning at the church from 9 am until mass time.
