Thomas Yadlosky Sr Obituary

Thomas J. Yadlosky Sr., 83, of Vandling, died peacefully at his home Monday. His wife is the former Beverly Sheare; the couple had been married for 64 years.

Born in Richmondale, son of the late John and Mary Kubus Yadlosky, he was a member of Ascension Parish, Forest City. He was a graduate of Forest City High School, and he received his bachelor's degree from the Pennsylvania State University. He was a 23-year veteran of the Pennsylvania Army National Guard, retiring as a sergeant first class. Before retirement, he was employed as a project engineer for the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation for 27 years. Tom stayed busy by being active in his community. He was a Boy Scout leader, a coach for boys Little League, a volunteer fireman for the former Vandling Hose Company and past commander of the American Legion Post 524, Forest City. He was also a former Vandling police officer.

Tom enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping and sports. But, most of all, he enjoyed spending time with his loving family. He spent his retirement fishing with his wife, while they spent the cold winter months together in Florida.

Also surviving are six children, Thomas Yadlosky Jr., and wife, Wendy, Forest City; Mary Ann Murphy and husband, Timothy, Inwood, WVa.; John Yadlosky and wife, Cathy, Biglerville; Beverly Yadlosky, Columbia, Md.; Michael Yadlosky and wife, Diane, Vestal, N.Y.; and Timothy Yadlosky and wife, Jean, Herrick Center; 17 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

He was also preceded in death by a daughter, Sharon Coleman; a brother, John Yadlosky; and a sister, Connie Hollis.

The funeral will be Friday from the Jones & Brennan Funeral Home, 430 Main St., Forest City, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St. Joseph's Church, Delaware Street, Forest City. Interment with military honors, Sacred Heart Cemetery, Forest City.

Friends may call Thursday from 3 to 7 p.m.
