Veronica “Ronnie” Quinn, 72, of Carbondale, died Tuesday August 22nd at the Carbondale Nursing Center. She was the widow of Frank M. Quinn, who died February 2, 2015.
Born in Carbondale, daughter of the late Carmine J. and Veronica Mongelia Zaccone, she was a member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, Carbondale. She was a graduate of Benjamin Franklin High School, Carbondale. Prior to her illness, she was employed as a CNA at the Carbondale Nursing Center. She had been previously employed as a receptionist at the Marian Community Hospital and Dr. McNabb’s office, both of Carbondale. She loved to go shopping, especially with her granddaughter, who was the light of her life.
The family would like to thank the nurses and staff of the Carbondale Nursing Center and Compassionate Care Hospice for the excellent care provided to Ronnie.
Surviving are a daughter: Michela Purewal, Tobyhanna; a granddaughter: Alyssa Quinn, Jermyn; two grandsons: Jayden and Giovanni Purewal, both of Tobyhanna; three sisters-in-law: Elaine Bruno, Carbondale; Sr. Mariette Quinn, IHM, Dunmore; Frances Quinn, Carbondale; a brother-in-law: Larry Quinn and wife Barbara, Carbondale; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
She was also preceded in death by a sister: Maria Zaccone; brothers-in-law: Michael “Joe” Quinn; Michael Bruno; Gene Zaverl; and a sister-in-law: Colleen Zaverl.
The funeral will be Thursday August 31st from the Brennan & Brennan Funeral Home, Inc., 55 Lincoln Avenue, Carbondale, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 am in Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, Carbondale. Interment will follow in Our Mother of Sorrows Cemetery, Finch Hill. Friends may call Wednesday, from 4 to 7 pm.
