Walter “Wally” Sosnowski, 63, of Forest City, died Sunday, February 21st at Wayne Memorial Hospital, Honesdale. He is survived by his wife, the former Karen Dente.
Born in Carbondale, son of the late Walter J. and Betty Pribula Sosnowski, he was a member of Ascension Parish, Forest City. He was a graduate of Forest City High School, Class of 1975. He was employed as the Plant Manager/Mechanic at Kartri Sales Co., Inc./M.G. Manufacturing Co., Inc. from 1975 till his retirement, due to illness, in 2019. Wally loved his job and took special interest in the mechanics of both sewing machines and embroidery machines. He also did designing for both embroidery and screen printing. In his younger years, he was an avid bowler for both the Forest City League and Mid-Valley League, leading his team to many victories. He also enjoyed hunting and playing a round of golf.
Also surviving are four sons: Steven Sosnowski, Forest City; Zachary Sosnowski, Archbald; Ryan Sosnowski, Forest City; and Dylan Sosnowski, Forest City; a grandchild: Elijah Sosnowski; a sister: Jacqueline Eiklor; and several nieces and nephews.
He was also preceded in death by a sister: Judith Cornell.
Private visitation and funeral services were held. Arrangements by the Jones & Brennan Funeral Home, 430 Main Street, Forest City.
