William C. Conner

William C. Conner, 62, of Forest City, died Sunday February 16th at Geisinger Community Medical Center, Scranton.  He is survived by his wife, Lorraine I. Hartman.

Born in Martinsville, VA, son of the late Rev. Willie E. and Zelma M. Conner, he was a member of the Rich Acres Baptist Church, Ridgeway, VA.  He was a veteran of the United States Army, having served as an Airborne soldier.   Prior to his illness, he was employed as a truck driver for J.B Hunt Trucking.  He enjoyed riding motorcycles.

Also surviving are a son: Joshua Conner and wife Jenniffer, Scranton; a daughter: Angel Thompson and husband Steven, Ferrum, VA; a grandson: Lucas Thompson; a step-daughter: Angela Marie Folmer, Old Forge;  a sister: Linda Elliott, Bassett Forks, VA; a brother: Howard Conner, Bassett, VA; and several nieces and nephews.

As per his request, private funeral services will be held with interment in Virginia.  Arrangements by the Jones & Brennan Funeral Home, 430 Main Street, Forest City.
