William Hightower Obituary

William S. Hightower, 75, of Carbondale, died Monday June 28th at the Green Ridge Care Center, Scranton.  He was preceded in death by his wife, the former Carol A. Swingle, died November 8, 2020.

Born in Macon, GA, son of the late Angus Wesley and Audry Lee Bloodworth Hightower, he was a member of the Berean Baptist Church, Carbondale.  He was a graduate of Richardson High School, Richardson, TX and the University of Texas at Austin.  He was a US Navy veteran of the Vietnam War era, having been stationed in Iceland.  Bill had a long career as an electrical engineer and technician, having held several patents.  More recently, he was employed as the Electronic Engineering Manager at Wesel Manufacturing Company, Eynon.  He then went on to start and manage his own company, Past Present Future Automation.

Surviving are three children: Kenneth, Bruce, and Jeff Hightower; 4 grandchildren; a sister-in-law: Rebecca Hightower, Mission, TX; and several nieces and nephews.

He was also preceded in death by a brother, Steve Hightower.

The funeral will be Thursday July 1st with graveside services at 1 pm in East Canaan Cemetery, South Canaan, by Pastor Deborah Loessy.  Arrangements by the Brennan & Brennan Funeral Home, Inc., 55 Lincoln Avenue, Carbondale.
