William E. “Kidd” Pearce, 70, of Carbondale, died Thursday November 17th at home. He is survived by his longtime partner, Pandora Yates.
Born in Carbondale, son of the late William A. and Ruth Robinson Pearce, he was a member of the Trinity Episcopal Church, Carbondale. He was a graduate of Benjamin Franklin High School, Carbondale, Class of 1969. He was a veteran of the United States Army, having served during the Vietnam War. Prior to retirement, he was employed as a foreman for the Delaware and Hudson Railroad. He was a member of the Brotherhood of Maintenance of Way Employees. He was an avid New York Yankees fan and he greatly enjoyed fishing.
Also surviving are two daughters: Angela McHale and husband Zack, Olyphant; Carey Hayes and husband Curtis, Visalia, CA; two step-sons: Jason Miller and wife Patricia, Carbondale; Gary Yates and wife Christina, Clarks Summit; one sister: Linda Thomas, Belvidere, IL; seven grandchildren: Madalyn and Elizabeth McHale; Christian Miller; John Jenkins; Jacob Hayes; Michael Yates; Thomas Scribner; several nieces and nephews.
The funeral will be Wednesday, November 23rd with services at 2pm in the Trinity Episcopal Church, 58 River Street, Carbondale. Entombment at a later date will be held in the Trinity Episcopal Church Columbarium. Friends may call Wednesday at the church, from 1 pm until service time. Arrangements by the Brennan & Brennan Funeral Home, Inc., 55 Lincoln Avenue, Carbondale.
